Brasenose was founded in 1509. The Brasenose College Boat Club is one of the oldest rowing clubs in the world. Undergraduates registered an almost 100% satisfaction with life at the college.

The north of the college stretches to the high street while the south side runs alongside Brasenose lane. The entrance to the college is on Radcliffe Square where the Radcliffe Camera stands.

Brasenose Lane connects the college to the very famous Radcliffe Square. In 2022 due to college rivalry it was suggested by Lincoln college to rename it 'Lincoln Lane'.
