Green College merged with Templeton College in 2008 to become Green Templeton College. The college is based on the site of the Radcliffe Observatory.

VIEW FROM 
 

The Radcliffe Observatory is an 18th century building fashioned after the 'Tower of the Winds' in Athens. 
J.C.F. Rossi  is the sculptor responsible for the zodiac carvings running around the   top of the building.

The Radcliffe Observatory was a working observatory 1773-1934 and was built as a means to see such  cosmological events like the transit of venus across the sun.
