Mansfield College was founded in 1838, one year after Queen Victoria came to the throne. It was the first non-conformist college in the University which meant students didn't have to be part of the church of England to be awarded a degree.

This is the college library. It was designed by Basil Champney 1887-1889. Other college buildings in Oxford he designed include Oriel, Lady Margaret Hall, and Somerville library.
