St Peter's College was  founded in 1929 by Francis James Chavasse. He wanted to make education available and affordable to all. William Morris who later became Lord Nuffield was also a major benefactor.

St Peter's College building was once owned by Linton House which was the premises fir the Oxford Canal and called Wyaston House

The Morris Building is student accommodation. It is often referred to as the 'fourth staircase'. It was funded by Lord Nuffield and given in memory of his mother Emily Morris.
