Elizabeth Wordsworth, founded Lady Margaret Hall 1879. It was named after Lady Margaret Beaufort, the mother of King Henry VII. LMH and Sommerville College, were the first colleges to accept women only students. The college became co-ed in 1979.

Sheldonian Theatre, Broad Street, Oxford

The magnificent Talbot Building was designed by Sir Reginald Blomfield in the French Renaissance style
In 1920 the Sheldonian Theatre was the venue for the first degrees to be awarded to women from the college.
